About Sagaponack Catering Co.
Sagaponack Catering Co. is a catering referral service for the 9 South Fork towns of the Hamptons, NY, launched in 2026 and run from the East End. It is not a caterer and is not connected to any restaurant, farm stand, kitchen or event company of a similar name: it finds a host the right insured, permitted local caterer for the occasion and puts the two in touch, free for the host, with the caterer calling within one business day.

Sagaponack Catering Co. does one narrow thing for the South Fork of Long Island, Southampton to Montauk: when an event needs a caterer, we find the right one and put the two of you in touch. We do not cook, staff or pitch tents. We are named for the hamlet, not for any kitchen in it, and we are not connected to any caterer, restaurant, farm stand or event company that shares the name.
The problem we are for
The Hamptons has more good caterers than any host has time to interview, and they are not interchangeable. One runs weddings for 200 under sailcloth and owns the kitchen trailer to do it. One does twelve at the table at the house and would rather not do sixty. One cooks from the farm stands in August and is closed in February. The usual way to find them is a planner, a neighbour or whoever did the last party, any of which may be exactly right and none of which is a method. We keep track of who does what, at what size, in which towns, and whether the proposal comes back when they said it would.
How it works
You tell us about the event once: what it is, when, roughly how many, where, and the style if you have a preference. We put you in touch with one caterer who does that kind of event at that size in that town, and they call you within one business day. From there it is their tasting, their proposal, their contract and their staff. If the evening wants a private chef rather than a caterer, or a caterer who can run the bar rather than one who cannot, that is a distinction we make before anyone calls you.
What "vetted" means here
Before we send a host to a caterer, we check that the company cooks from a kitchen permitted by the Suffolk County Department of Health Services, carries liability insurance, has references from events of the size and kind in question, and staffs at the ratios the format needs. Beyond that we ask the unglamorous questions: who is the captain on the night, what happens if it rains, and what the proposal does and does not include.
What it costs
Nothing, for hosts. Participating caterers pay us a referral fee for the introduction. You pay the caterer on their proposal, and we do not sell your details to anyone.
About the numbers
Hamptons catering is expensive and, worse, opaque. We publish 2026 per-person ranges for the events people actually give here, the staffing ratios behind them, the administrative-fee and gratuity conventions, and what the county and the towns require, and we say where each number comes from and whether it is local or national. When sources disagree we print both. When we could not find a trustworthy figure we say so instead of inventing one.
Who we are
Sagaponack Catering Co. launched in 2026 and is run from the East End. We are new and we are small. If something on this site is wrong or out of date, email us and we will fix it.
Sagaponack Catering Co. is a Hamptons catering referral service, not a caterer. We put hosts in touch with independent, insured caterers who cook from permitted kitchens; the caterer you hire cooks, staffs and serves the event, writes the proposal and holds the contract. Our service is free for hosts; participating caterers pay us a referral fee. Published cost figures are 2026 Hamptons, Long Island, New York City or national ranges with sources listed in our guides, not quotes.
